Rahman - The Musical Genius ...

I have been an ardent fan of AR Rahman since he composed music for ROJA in 1991. I have always been mesmerised by his music compositions.

His latest offerings One Love and Jan Gan Man are outstanding. I couldn't resist buying the audio CD's of these albums for the simple fact that the music was soul-stirring.

While One Love is all about love, Jan Gan Man on the other hand is Rahman's tribute to 60 years of India's Independence.

One Love - One song in 7 different languages. Thats the content of the audio CD. You have to listen the Hindi version sung by Rahman himself. Simply amazing. A fitting tribute to the Taj Mahal, the epitome of love.




Jan Gan Man - The National Anthem rendered in 35 different forms. The promos on TV are already a huge hit.

Defining Moment of INDEPENDENT INDIA ...

As AUGUST 15th comes closer...

As people plan to celebrate INDIA's 60th year of Independence...


Here I am blogging about what I think as A DEFINING MOMENT in the history of INDEPENDENT INDIA.

Pokhran II as it is known today, is definitely a moment to cherish for all of us. It was on 11th May 1998 when Operation Shakthi was carried out successfully. The event took the whole world by surprise, especially the US. India had demonstrated its nuclear capability and the whole world had no clue about it till the Indian Government made an official announcement.

The event established that India was capable of achieving what many thought was impossible. And to achieve with the US (read the Global Watchdog) having no clue about it, meant that the world had to acknowledge the fact that INDIA has become a powerful nation to reckon with.

My salute to all those involved in the success of Operation Shakthi.
